Gran Canaria is most easily accessed by plane, with frequent flights arriving daily from across Europe and Africa. Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is located around 20 km south of Las Palmas city. As an alternative to flying, it is also possible to reach Gran Canaria by ferry from southern Spain. Departures are available from Cádiz, and the journey takes approximately 30 hours. This option is operated by companies such as Naviera Armas or Trasmediterránea.
