The conference venue, the Humanities Building “Agustín Millares Carló” (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), is located at the Obelisco Campus in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Situated just a short distance from the historic district of Vegueta and the commercial centre of the city, the venue is easily accessible by public transport and within walking distance of many hotels, restaurants, cafés, and cultural attractions.
URBAN BUS
The main public transport system in the city is operated by Guaguas Municipales (https://www.guaguas.com), the local bus service. The city does not have a metro or tram network, but buses provide efficient access to most key locations, offering reliable service with frequent departures. The conference venue, the Humanities Building “Agustín Millares Carló” of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is centrally located and easily accessible from the main accommodation areas, including Triana, Vegueta, Santa Catalina Park and Las Canteras Beach.
The nearest bus stop, Pérez del Toro (Pl. Dr. Juan Bosch Millares), is just a one-minute walk from the venue and is served by several Guaguas Municipales routes, including Lines 2, 11, 22 and 25. Additional nearby stops along León y Castillo and Luis Doreste Silva provide further connections across the city. The bus network operates frequently throughout the day, making public transport one of the easiest and most convenient ways to reach the conference venue.
Participants arriving from Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) can take Global Line 60 to San Telmo Bus Station, followed by a pleasant 10-minute walk or a short local bus ride to the venue.
Tickets and Fares:
Single tickets can be purchased directly from the driver using cash, contactless card, or through the Guaguas LPA mobile app.
For frequent travel, you can opt for a travel pass. The BonoGuagua is valid only on urban buses and can be bought at kiosks, shops, and main bus stations across the city (see sales points here). Alternatively, the TransGC card is accepted on both urban and interurban buses, making it a more flexible option.
